No matter how accurate the shape of the mold is or how good the structural strength is, the steel used in the mold (RDS) is the top priority.
High quality RDS has certain hardness specifications (steel body and edge) and guaranteed bendability (angle and radius). The general standard is: steel body hardness of 38hrc, edge hardness of 50HRC, guaranteed angle of 60 degrees (within the thickness range), sealing angle of 2mm, and guaranteed bending radius of 1mm.
RDS has different configuration files, from general standard configuration files to configuration files that meet special needs.
The specific selection of RDS profiles and initial dimensions depends on the different materials being cut. At the same time, the following conditions are considered: die size, complexity, number of cuts, expected pressure and the shape of the material to be cut, whether single or multi-layer. However, when customizing a series of molds, the profiles and dimensions of RDS should be clearly defined. In other words, the material to be marked for cutting depends on the model plant.
Be single layer cutting (leather); BD single layer cutting, double edge cutting, only one die on the left or right side; Longitudinal shear AE symmetrical profile; Symmetrical double-edged steel; Te-g multi-layer cutting (fiber fabric, hair, thread, artificial leather, etc.); Se-g hard material cutting (insole); Ate cutting multi-layer heavy textile raw materials; Ben thread die.
The purpose of double-edged steel (BD) is to reduce the need for special molds for shoes. Symmetrical and identical parts can be cut from a single edge hard punch made of double-edged steel.
However, in this case, the specific cutting edge will bear the pressure generated by the punch, so special protective measures must be taken to avoid damaging the edge during handling and storage. If one side is damaged, higher pressure is required to remove the damaged material. When the edge is connected to the top of the sheet of the switch, this will increase the load on the edge, resulting in a vicious cycle of pressure increase, resulting in premature wear of both edges.
Overpressure must be avoided in the double-edged steel BD for optimum performance and full savings.
Correct selection of stamping materials:
Upper leather - the natural protective upper leather is cut into single layers, so the contour of be or BD is the most economical cutting method in this case.
The inner sole, main heel and reinforcing materials of protective shoes - hard materials such as imitation leather cardboard or fiberboard are best cut with se-g/se-w profile cutter. The small slope of the profile reduces the internal pressure of the die, making the die easy to clean.
Woven or nonwoven fabrics are usually cut into multiple layers. Te-g profiles are recommended because they help to penetrate the stacked material with less stress. Serrated steel plates, such as tes-g, reduce pressure to a greater extent and are used for difficult to cut fabrics and thick layer stacking to avoid "undercut".
Leather soles, thick artificial leather and plastic sheets require high cutting pressure and linear molds. Be-n profile adopts light steel or traditional heavy forged steel plate.
Profile affects stamping quality: you can see the impact of profile on cutting quality under some typical conditions.
1. cut leather with be profile. The system is accurate and the cutting effect is good.
2. cut the double hardened artificial leather panel with be profile. The plate is then over extruded, creating pressure inside the die and pushing the plate out. The cutting part becomes rigid, the size of "cutting" between different layers is different, and the mold will be deformed.
3. the same system uses se-g configuration files. The small inclined plane inside the profile can directly cut through the layers of the carton to facilitate the cleaning of the mold.

5. te-g can also be used to complete the same task. The profile has a large inner slope, which is conducive to the pressure caused by the middle and outer slopes. This ensures direct cutting without multiple stacks of "cut" results shown in D.
Select the correct size:
In order to avoid changing the cutting pressure protection distance, the RDS height is usually determined by the specific conditions of the factory. A 32mm thick steel plate plus 19mm is enough. 19mm mould is easy to operate, space saving and economical.
When cutting thick laminated multilayer materials, 32 mm or even 50 mm steel plates must be used because of the large space in the mold.
The st accommodates compression laminations and release rubbers. When cutting the burrs of triangular parts, deep die steel can also be used.
The thickness of RDS will also affect the stability of the die, but there is no need to change the pressure protection distance. It also has an effect on bending properties, so a thickness of two millimeters is required to balance stability and flexibility (or elasticity). A thickness of 2.5 mm can be used to increase the stability of large-area molds or when greater pressure is required. However, small bending range, small angle bending and complex shape make it difficult to meet the operation requirements in this case.
Influence of profile on cutting quality under typical conditions:
